  • Broadway Books 1714 Northeast Broadway Street Portland, OR, 97232 United States (map)

From Broadway Books: We welcome The Hummingbird Global Writers’ Circle to the store, providing an evening of literary readings and delightful conversations. Founded by writer-academic Dr. Debotri Dhar, the Hummingbird Global Writers’ Circle is a transnational “travelling” literary series that brings writers and local communities together, through themed events in different parts of the world, to foster a love of books, and to promote cultural exchange and global understanding. This evening’s theme is ‘Work.’ Speakers include publisher-writer Laura Stanfill (Forest Avenue Press), Broadway Books co-owner Sally McPherson, authors Dan Berne (The Gods of Second Chances) and Deborah Reed (The Days When Birds Come Back), writer-coach Jen Violi, and others. Artisanal teas and desserts will be served. This event is free and all are welcome, but space limited and RSVP requested: (debotri@umich.edu).
